Frequently Asked Questions

What impact will it have on our power bill by switching to energy efficient windows?

Since 1992, with help from ENERGY STAR®, American families and businesses were able to save $297 billion on utility bills and prevented more than 2.1 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions by 2013. Each Pella® product meets or exceeds ENERGY STAR certification in all 50 states and most of Canada. How does this impact you? Not only might your notice a decrease to your heating and cooling costs, you’ll also help protect the environment.

How much will my replacement door or replacement windows project cost?

Our windows and doors are each specifically designed and made-to-order for your home, meaning no two projects are alike. Our wide range of products make it difficult to discuss pricing without first understanding your needs, wants and the project results you envision. Due to this nature, we find it helpful to send out a Pella sales representative who can provide you with a quoted project price upon seeing the project site itself. To expedite the quoting process, your Pella® sales representative is prepared with a computer and a portable printer so that they can provide you with all the quote information you’ll need—just as soon as the sales representative has a chance to consider the requirements of the task and matches them with your vision.

In addition to offering a large variety of first-rate products to pick from, we also have a generous offering of payment and finance options. Pella is uniquely-suited to offer you great window and door products at affordable prices, offering you a chance to make the upgrades you want to while building great value into your Asheville area home as you do it.

What should I use to clean my glass windows?

We suggest that you clean them with a prepackaged vinegar-based cleaning mixture or use an ammonia free glass cleaner such as Windex or Sparkle. You can also mix your own with one part vinegar to ten parts water. Put the solution on a soft, clean microfiber cloth or paper towel. We do not suggest using glass cleaners that are ammonia- or alcohol-based because they could produce streaks or create a film that draws moisture and dust.

Do Pella® employees actually install your replacement windows and doors?

Pella uses reliable installers who are certified to install Pella windows and doors. They must complete a carefully crafted set of training courses so that your windows and doors are properly installed and meet Pella’s strict warranty criteria. We seek out the best Asheville-local people and recruit them to install our projects. Before we hire anyone, Pella requires them to pass a drug test and background check. Our installers are fully covered by liability and workers compensation insurance. In addition to Pella product warranties, your installation is also covered for 10 years under the installation limited warranty and service agreement.

What's different about buying replacement windows and doors from local Pella® showrooms versus buying from retailers like Lowe’s?

Your Asheville Pella branch offers services and support that “big box” stores can’t perform. Our specialty is selling, installing, and servicing Pella Windows & Doors. Working with a dedicated Pella sales team, project manager, local service technicians, and professional Pella installers means that you will have the expertise of our whole team. We frequently use the term “single source accountability”, meaning that there’s no one to chase down regarding a product, installation, or warranty issue. You can easily contact your sales representative or our main office if you have any concerns and we will get to work resolving the issue.

Why is Pella® the right choice for my home?

There are numerous reasons why Asheville homeowners choose Pella for their replacement window and door needs. Founded in 1925, Pella is privately-held. Our success depends upon customer satisfaction, not stock prices. All of our high quality windows and doors are made with high standards and serviced by Pella’s unique Direct Sales Network. Unlike many of our competitors who sell exclusively through retailers, Pella has dedicated replacement window and doors showrooms throughout North America. This unique way of operating our business gives the homeowners in Asheville a convenient and personal experience with the assistance of a local to Asheville, Pella-certified team. Whether you are considering the beauty of wood, the strength of fiberglass, or the low maintenance of vinyl—Pella has a high quality, energy efficient and durable solution.
