Basement Windows

Windows are able to make your basement more aesthetically pleasing and offer added safety. Large basement windows, sometimes known as "egress windows," from Pella of Asheville are created to allow more light into underground spaces than the older, smaller, rectangular windows that sit above ground. They also give you a way to get out in case of an emergency.

The main differentiator between basement, or egress, windows and standard windows is that basement windows are required to be made for an average-sized person to get out in order to meet safety requirements set forth in building codes. You are able to select from properly sized casement, sliding or double-hung windows when you put in basement windows. Be sure you totally understand local building codes before you purchase basement windows.
